Dr. Donald J. Bearden named Chief of Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health

Le Bonheur Children鈥檚 Hospital has named Donald J. Bearden, PhD, ABPP-CN, its first chief of Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health. Dr. Bearden will be an associate professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The newly created position at Le Bonheur will help support families by incorporating psychology and behavioral health into the care of the patient and family.

For more than 25 years, Dr. Gerhold has worked with children and adolescents with pediatric rheumatic conditions in outpatient and inpatient facilities. Before moving to Mississippi, Dr. Gerhold spent more than 20 years at inpatient and outpatient settings in academic centers in Germany and Canada.

The Healthy Behaviors Virtual Class will help parents and children establish a healthy relationship with their bodies and foods. Learn more about how to make feeding decisions based on honoring hunger cues that provide nutrition for growth, development and well-being. This course will incorporate principles of intuitive eating with the intention of promoting confidence when approaching meal time.
