Research into the causes of diseases is essential to advance future clinical care.  Our Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism continues to lead internationally-recognized research in hormonal disorders such as diabetes and growth hormone deficiency.  Our site currently hosts active clinical trials.

  • Expanding available treatments for pediatric type 2 diabetes
  • Perioperative management of diabetes insipidus in brain tumor patients
  • Developing best practices for care of children with disorders of sexual development
  • Care and management of patients with syndromic pediatric obesity
  • Creating systems of care for patients with pediatric metabolic bone diseases
  • Evaluating biomarkers for identification of hyperandrogenism in females, specifically polycystic ovarian syndrome and premature adrenarche
  • Evaluating the incidence of organic pathology leading to premature adrenarche
  • Analysis patterns of host viral response genes in pancreatic islets of type 1 diabetes
  • Improving the use of sick day rules to reduce diabetic ketoacidosis admission in patients with diabetes
  • Use of growth hormone in patients with chronic kidney disease
